Before my retirement I worked in railway operations for over 35 years, from the smallest country lane crossing to one of the busiest signal boxes in the country.  I have had many years as a motorcycle race photographer with pictures published around the world.

I have always had a keen interest in wildlife and wildlife photography but a cruise to the Arctic islands of Svalbard in 2011 changed my focus entirely. I saw so many whales and dolphins so photographing these magnificent animals became an obsession. This led to completing courses to become a whale and dolphin surveyor.

Many hours have been spent on the decks of cruise ships and ferries from the Arctic to the Caribbean with every sighting being a special moment.

When on cruises as your OWE wildlife guide, my camera is always at the ready.
